Pernod Ricard Travel Retail has teamed up with DFZ, which trades as the Zon Duty Free, and opened a new retail store at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to showcase its Martell and Chivas Regal brands.

Under the Martell Cognac brand, which was making its inaugural entry in Asia duty free and travel retail, Pernod Ricard introduced a Martell Trunk that displays the entire range of Martell products.

Designed by French luxury brand Pinel & Pinel, the trunk showcases 28 200ml cylindrical flacons featuring seven examples of four blends dating back to 1927 and 1934, where each blend represents four cognac terroirs – Borderies, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois.

The Martell Trunk also houses crystal decanters, snifters, tulip glasses and tumblers, silver-plate bucket, crusher, other cocktail utensils and cellar master’s notebook with handwritten tasting notes of Martell’s Benoit Fil and other blends.

Apart from the Martell Trunk, the brand will also showcase its limited edition products like Millesime 1968 and others.

For the first time, Chivas Regal has opened a retail space using its new visual identity that features 3D merchandising units in a bar-style format, where a complete range of Chivas Regal products are showcased.

Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free senior brand manager Sandrine Tesniere said both the brands are using the new space to display their products and make their mark in the travel retail industry.

The vertical walk-in Martell Trunk will be present at the airport for three months.
