Natural Merchants, an Oregon-based importer and distributor of natural and organic wines directly from the European and Mediterranean regions, has introduced a new organic wine – Tarantas Monastrell.

The wine is made from 100% organically grown Spanish Monastrell grapes sourced from Jumilla region in southeast Spain that possesses continental climate with coarse textured soils.

Around 80% of the vineyard in Jumilla is grown with Monastrell grapes that are used to produce wines with full-bodied character and possessing black fruit and plum flavors, intense colors, aromas and are fruity and powerful on the palate.

Tarantas Monastrell is deep black cherry in color with purple violet hues and bouquet of spice box, violets and blueberry.

The 14% ABV wine has smooth texture with savory red fruits, soft and round tannins, well-balanced acidity and pure finish.

Tarantas Monastrell, which retails for $11.99, pairs well with grilled meats and vegetables, Spanish Tapas and cheeses.

Natural Merchants owner Edward Field said that Monastrell truly embodies the unique terroir in which it is grown.
