Major Brands, a Missouri-based wholesale distributor of premium spirits, wines and beers, has deployed an upgraded version of HighJump Warehouse Management System (WMS) at its St Louis warehouse.

Developed by Minneapolis-based HighJump Software, a global provider of supply chain management software, the WMS was initially installed by Major Brands six years ago.

Since then, the WMS helped Major Brands improve its warehouse management activities like receiving, put-away/flow-through, inventory management and replenishment, which were used by the distributor to improve its employee beverage handling capacity by more than 10%, where in each employee handled more beverage cases per hour than before with picking accuracy of more than 99.9%.

The WMS also allowed Major Brands to track their inventory moving from one location to another.

Major Brands operations director Randy Simpson said it was not possible for them to move the cases without the help from HighJump WMS.

"It tracks all of our key data, such as which items we have in stock, where they are and their expiration dates. It has allowed our company to grow and to improve our service to customers," Simpson added.

The increased efficiency and productivity forced Major Brands to upgrade to the latest version of HighJump WMS.

With the upgraded version of WMS, Major Brands will have access to the HighJump App Station that allows users to browse and add new features and functionalities instantly without interrupting their workflow.

Major Brand software Developer Bill Schwein said HighJump helped them deploy the new WMS very smoothly.

"We were able to test all features of the new WMS prior to installation which gave us assurance that no customer service disruptions would take place during the actual implementation and yet still stay within our designated timeline," he added.
