Jura distillery, an Island of Jura-based producer of single malt Scotch whiskies, has rolled out a new blend Jura Turas Mara for the travel retail market.

The 42% ABV expression is aged in casks sourced from America, Spain, France and Portugal.

Jura Turas Mara possesses notes of vanilla, toffee and black cherries.

The new blend Turas-Mara is inspired by the inhabitants of Jura – Diurachs, who migrated during the 18th and 19th centuries to the US, Canada and other countries, reported The Spirits Business.

Whyte & Mackay travel retail director Francesco Scaglione was quoted by the website as saying that the expression will be available for sale only through select travel retail outlets.

"Over the past five years, the brand’s sales within this channel have grown more than any other top single malt, and this year we aim to build on that momentum and continue to work closely with our partners to create innovative brand exclusives," Scaglione added.

Jura Tuas-Mara is sold at recommended retail price of £40 and is available throughout 2013.

The travel retail release includes the brand’s updated packaging, which was implemented across the entire range.
