Jack Daniel’s Distillery, a Tennessee-based distillery, has released a new limited edition Jack Daniel’s Unaged Rye for distribution at select retailers in select US states.

According to the distillery, the spirit has been available for purchase since 2012 at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop located within its premises and the current release will be the only "run of the spirit" throughout the US.

Jack Daniel’s Unaged Rye is a blend of 70% rye, 18% corn, 12% malted barley, proprietary yeast, charcoal and Cave Spring water collected from the Jack Daniel’s Hollow.

The whiskey offers spice notes, complex taste profile and other natural flavors of a traditional, fine rye whiskey.

Jack Daniel’s master distiller Jeff Arnett said they often consider rye as a key ingredient of their Old No. 7 grain bill and decided to come up with a rye whiskey two years ago.

"We just felt like it was time to feature rye by offering consumers a limited-quantity rye expression that is handcrafted with the same passion and experience our friends have come to expect from all of our products," Arnett added.

Jack Daniel’s Unaged Rye is currently available at a suggested retail price of $49.99 per 750ml bottle.

The Unaged Rye joins Jack Daniel’s portfolio of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey-Based Ready-to-Drink beverages and Jack Daniel’s Country cocktails.
