Fulcrum Utility Services, a UK-based energy solutions company, has entered into a deal with Chivas Brothers and Angus Dundee Distillers to provide gas connections to four major distillery sites in the Speyside region of Scotland.

The £7.6m deal, which will commence immediately, will help the four distilleries to convert heavy fuel oil into gas.

FUS is expected to deliver the service within a period of 18 months.

Since acquisition in July 2010, the company has undertaken restructuring activity as its new business strategy, which helped it to generate profits during the 2011 financial year and also in the first half of 2012.

Having secured the new contracts and observed continuous growth in sales, the company expects strong profits in the second half of 2012 and expects the full year performance to be in line with current market.

FUS CEO John Spellman said they are happy to secure such a substantial contract and look forward to delivering it over the coming months.

"Despite a backdrop of macro-economic uncertainty, there continue to be significant opportunities Fulcrum is well positioned to secure," Spellman added.

"The contract win is a further endorsement of our renewed business model focused on providing high quality customer service and the expertise to deliver large scale, complex engineering projects."
