First Drinks, owned by independent family-owned distiller William Grant & Sons, is to roll out the limited edition collectable glass on-packs for Grant’s Scotch whisky and Three Barrels brandy.

The glasses will be rolled out solely for the convenience, specialist and wholesale channel.

Grant’s Scotch whisky, which is produced by William Grant & Sons, will see the roll out of six collectible glasses showcasing the Grant’s Family Reserve labels from 1903 to 2013.

Initially three glasses will be rolled out in May 2013, followed by next three in September 2013.

Three Barrels brandy will also see three collectable glasses releasing in May 2013, followed by second roll out in September 2013, giving consumers a chance to collect all three glasses.

The limited edition glasses were designed by typographer Alison Carmichael.

First Drinks Grant’s and Three Barrels senior brand manager Oliver Dickson said the company expects the new collectible glasses for Grant’s and Three Barrels to be accepted by its drinkers.

"The glasses also make great gifts, which with Father’s Day approaching, provides retailers with another gifting solution from First Drinks," Dickson added.

"Gifting is currently worth £125m to the impulse channel and with the support of exclusives such as the Grant’s and Three Barrels collectable glasses, we expect to see the channel benefit as a result."

Both Grant’s and Three Barrels limited edition glass on-packs will be available at recommended retail price of £16.49.
