eWinery Solutions, a California-based provider of winery direct-to-consumer (DTC) software and services to wineries and third party marketers, has joined forces with Napa Valley point of sale (POS) to form a new entity that will offer a full line of DTC services to the wine industry.

The combined entity will retain both the brand names and will maintain two offices in Napa and Nevada City, California.

eWinery Solutions will use its latest tools including the wine-industry specific software solution to help wineries manage their DTC businesses and streamline their day-to-day activities in the wine industry, while Napa Valley POS will look to provide POS software and its application throughout the wine industry.

As per the transaction, Napa Valley POS president Martin Olsen will become chief technical officer and chief customer satisfaction officer of the new entity, while eWinery Solutions president Ron Scharman will retain his position and will look into finance, HR, contracts and partner channels of new entity.

Napa Valley POS CEO Richard Kline will also retain his position and will oversee new products entry into markets and the sales team.

Kline said the project is a part of the company’s vision for the future of wine industry.

"Every year, the consolidation of information and systems becomes more important to wineries, not just here in the USA, but around the globe. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance winery efficiency, and this is a significant step in that direction," he added.

Olsen said both eWinery’s DTC online solution and its experience in winery point-of-sale have enabled them to offer complete end-to-end solution for wineries of any size.

"I am personally ecstatic about new products we have jointly developed using the latest technology in mobile, CRM and club management, as well as a host of other really cool products that we will be announcing over the next several weeks," Olsen added.
