Coca-Cola has reported an increase in its gross profit by 2% with earnings of $7,487m for the third quarter (Q3) that ended on 28 September 2012, up from $7,373m during the same period last year.

Net operating revenues grew 1% to $12,340m during the latest quarter of 2012, as against $12,248m a year earlier.

The company reported a growth of 6% in the comparable currency neutral net revenues for Q3 2012.

Operating income and comparable currency neutral operating income during the latest three months period grew by 1%, as against the values in the previous year.

The company registered earnings per share (EPS) of $0.50 for the third quarter of 2012, up 4%, compared to $0.48 during the third quarter of 2011.

Coca-Cola chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent said the company has registered volume growths of 4% in the quarter and 5% year-to-date throughout the world.

"Importantly, we realized growth in the quarter across all five of our global geographic operating groups, despite continued volatility in the worldwide economy," Kent added.

"We have been able to crack the calculus for growth in this environment. We have done this by consistently investing in our system and our brands to ensure that our global portfolio is more relevant and healthier today than it has ever been."
