Bell’s Brewery, a Michigan-based craft brewery, is set to expand its distribution footprint to southern California in May 2014.

To distribute its products, the brewery has signed a deal with Craft Beer Guild Distributing of California, an extension of L. Knife & Son’s growing national craft wholesale network.

This move by the brewery comes one month after it launched in New York City with Union Beer Distributors, another L. Knife & Son wholesale operation.

Bell’s will roll out its full portfolio of beers to San Diego and Imperial counties.

Bell’s Brewery vice president Laura Bell said these two counties will help them to establish, while ensuring that the customers’ needs are met.

"We’re really excited to join an already outstanding craft beer community," Bell added.

Bell’s first began distributing to New York City in February after expanding to western and upstate New York last fall.

The southern Californian state will become their first western state since Arizona and the 20th throughout the US.

Bell’s Brewery will also launch their Beer Finder feature in May to help customers locate their beers easily at nearby bars, restaurants and retailers.

According to Bell, they are no more planning to expand to new markets now, but are concentrating to finish their fermentation expansion capabilities through the recently deployed 12,800 barrel tanks, which will soon go live.

The brewery’s new canning line is also being assembled and beer cans are expected to be released to all 20 states in April 2014.
