Andrews Distributing, a Texas-based beverage distributor, has completed the deal to acquire Coors Distributing of Fort Worth, Texas.

The purchase allows Andrews Distributing to increase its beer and beverage distributorship footprint in North Texas and makes Fort Worth as its fourth home base.

Some of the new brands added to Andrews’ portfolio include the Coors franchise, Boston Beer, Heineken USA, Mark Anthony, Pabst Brewing, Anheuser-Busch InBev, the Blue Moon brand franchise and Rahr & Son’s Brewing.

Currently, Andrews has eight brewing partners in Tarrant and Johnson counties and over 3,000 retail accounts in the region.

The distributors’ Red Bull sales are likely to increase from 28 million cases to 33 million cases per annum.

The purchase of Coors Distributing also doubles its staff and adds new brewing partners.

Andrews Distributing founder Barry Andrews said North Texas is at the epicenter of an explosive growth in the beer industry.

"I am humbled for the opportunity to extend our services and value-added assistance to Tarrant and Johnson county retailers and, of course, to our brewery partners here," added Andrews.

In February 2014, Andrews announced plans to build a new distribution centre at a local site fronting 820, near west of I-35W, to accommodate the entire Tarrant portfolio.

Andrews Distributing president Mike McGuire said it is an ideal location to consolidate their local operations and build a facility similar to their Allen location.

"These combined Fort Worth facilities will now equal the employee population at our other centres, and those men and women will service new brewery partners and hundreds of additional retailer partners," added McGuire.

"Clearly, those facts establish Fort Worth as our fourth ‘hometown’ joining Dallas, Allen and Corpus Christi. Most importantly, this particular market has a remarkable potential for growth."
