Yellow Tail, an Australian wine band from Casella Family Brands, has expanded its presence in the UK market with the launch of its lighter style wine Pure Bright.

With 8.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), Pure Bright will be available in four varietals including Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a rosé.

Casella Family Brands Strategy and Innovation head Michael Sergeant said: “The newcomer had been developed with the same commitment to taste and consistency as the core Yellow Tail range and with consumers’ changing attitudes towards alcohol in mind.

“The moderation trend, underpinned by health and social drivers is impacting the wine category in many ways.

The company claims that its new wines range contain 80 calories per 125ml serve, costing £7 to purchase.

Sergeant added: “Through our global consumer research, we found that in most developed wine markets including the UK, US and Australia, taste concerns were the key barrier for trial and consumer acceptance of lighter style wines, hence our focus on this space with Yellow Tail Pure Bright.
