US-based beverage company WX Brands has expanded its portfolio with an acquisition of wine brands Reckless Love and Sunday Funday from Rebel Coast Winery.

Reckless Love is a California red blend, while Sunday Funday combines light and white wine.

Established in 1999, WX develops brands of wine, beer and spirits for retailers worldwide, as well as offering its own wine portfolio to the global market.

WX Brands’ president and CEO Peter Byck said: “WX Brands is always on the lookout for ways to expand our portfolio of proprietary brands. With their unique positioning and strong following, Reckless Love and Sunday Funday are the ideal fit for us.

“We never lacked vision, but we needed a larger platform to share our distinct wines.”

“We are in a remarkable position to introduce these compelling wines to an even larger audience through our sales network and distribution partners.”

Reckless Love and Sunday Funday were founded by winemaker Chip Forsythe, who will remain the brands’ ambassador following the acquisition.

Forsythe said: “Reckless Love and our other wines have grown beyond my wildest dreams, which is usually best expressed by the statement ‘Look at me now, Mom!’.

“As a start-up winery, we never lacked vision, but we needed a larger platform to share our distinct wines. Under WX Brands’ umbrella, these wines will get the audience they deserve through their successful sales and distribution network.”

WX Brands’ portfolio includes Bread & Butter, Chronic Cellars, Jamieson Ranch Vineyards, Jelly Jar and Our Daily Wines.
