Beverage brand Upbeat Drinks has introduced its new low-sugar flavoured water line-up to the UK market.

Designed for health-conscious consumers, the new water is a low-sugar beverage that contains added protein and minerals. It is released in lemon, blueberry and raspberry flavours, which contain 12g of whey protein and less than 55 calories in a 500ml bottle.

Bold fonts and fruit imagery were used as part of the packaging’s design to highlight each flavour, while creating on-shelf appeal.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for healthy drinks that do not just offer great taste and low sugar, but also deliver better-for-you nutrition.”

Upbeat Drinks managing director Mark Neville was quoted by various media sources as saying: “Taste is so important in this market and combining expertise in juice drinks with our pioneering protein knowledge has delivered an outstanding result.

“We recognise that consumers are increasingly looking for healthy drinks that do not just offer great taste and low sugar, but also deliver better-for-you nutrition so people can be at their best all day.

“We believe this product is one of the first that strongly delivers against all of these elements while being at a mainstream, affordable price point.”

The new drinks range will be sold in the UK market for a recommended retail price (RRP) of £1.79 per bottle.

Upbeat Drinks’ general manager David Gardner said: “Consumers were really surprised that the high-protein, low-sugar combination didn’t adversely impact the taste.”
