Terrapin Beer has announced the release of India pale ale (IPA) Hoppin’ Bubbly Brut later this month.

The beverage is a combination of American-style lager Miller High Life and Terrapin’s Rye Pale Ale beer.

Hoppin’ Bubbly Brut comprises the grain bill of Miller High Life along with additional Citra and Mosaic hops. It also features flaked corn and rye, which change the texture and flavour.

“We wanted to make a beer that finishes dry and Champagne-like, and the style just fit.”

Terrapin Beer co-founder and brewmaster Spike Buckowski said: “It was a no-brainer to go in this direction. We wanted to make a beer that finishes dry and Champagne-like, and the style just fit.”

Terrapin noted that the beer is manufactured at its Athens brewery in Georgia, US. It will be initially released in Georgia and Wisconsin.

Miller High Life associate marketing manager Jeff Schulman said: “If it’s successful, which we think it will be, there’s no reason why we couldn’t expand to other markets.

“This is all part of our goal to continue building relationships with the craft beer community, which is very important to us because they’re our loyal customers.”

With 6.5% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), Hoppin’ Bubbly Brut will be launched in six-packs of 12oz cans.
