Global flavourings, extracts and essences manufacturer Synergy Flavours has completed a new blending facility that will be added to its manufacturing unit in Samut Prakarn, Thailand.

With the addition of the facility, the company aims to address the increasing demand for sports nutrition beverages as well as sweet-flavoured functional mix drinks and baby infant formula in the Asian markets.

Synergy Flavours Thailand Southeast Asia managing director Geoff Allen said: “This is the latest in a series of investments in Asia as we continue to add capacity and expertise to our strategically important site near Bangkok.

“With the new high-care blending facility, we are perfectly placed to help our customers in the region to cater to emerging consumer trends, such as the interest in ambient or warm sports nutrition beverages and ‘growing up milk’ – for infants of one to four years old.

“Our global presence and combined technical and marketing expertise mean we can help customers be quick to market with innovative, delicious products that consumers will love.”

Equipped with a ribbon blender and an air shower, the facility will add 2,500m² of additional space to the existing facility in Thailand.

Additionally, the facility will be used by the company for producing, instant beverage mixes and infant follow-on formula and powder blended flavours.

It will also use the facility for manufacturing a wide range of flavours for the bakery, beverages and cheese sectors for its Dairy by Nature brand.

Synergy claims that its portfolio of natural taste solutions could be used in a range of dairy products.
