US-based wine importer Santa Margherita has expanded its portfolio with the addition of two Italian wineries Cà Maiol of Lombardy and Cantina Mesa of Sardinia.

Santa Margherita USA is a subsidiary of Italian wine company Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo.

Founded in 1935, Gruppo Santa Margherita has been engaged in wine production, as well as making investments in the wine industry.

With the addition of the two wineries join, the company’s count of wine producers has increased to ten.

Santa Margherita USA CEO Vincent Chiaramonte said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to represent both of these unique producers in the US.

“With the addition of the two wineries join, the company’s count of wine producers has increased to ten.”

“Cà Maiol expands our depth and cements our expertise as a resource for top quality Italian white wines. Cantina Mesa is a quality Sardinian producer, and brings our customers the authenticity and diversity that they are looking for.”

Cantina Mesa’s offerings include Vermentino, Carignano del Sulcis and Cannonau. Cà Maiol’s wines are produced using native Italian grape varieties Trebbiano di Lugana, Groppello and Marzemino.

The addition of Cantina Mesa to the Santa Margherita USA portfolio is part of the Italian company’s business strategy to increase its footprint in the US market by offering a wide range of wine products sourced from various wine producing regions.

Santa Margherita USA is rolling out Cà Maiol and Cantina Mesa wine products across the US through its distribution network.
