US-based organic beverage company Purity Organic has acquired management company Dunn’s River Brands, which runs Fireman Capital’s beverage portfolio.

Currently, Dunn’s beverage portfolio includes Sweet Leaf Tea brand, as well as the Tradewinds Beverage brand in the US.

Purity Organic chairman Douglas Abrams said: “We believe there is tremendous potential for all our brands as the organic beverage market continues to expand. We will continue to deliver great-tasting, organic beverages with a variety of strong brands.”

Sweet Leaf Tea, an organic iced tea brand, started in Austin, Texas. Purity Organic, in its press statement, said that Sweet Leaf iced tea brand is “very accretive” to its focus.

Tradewinds brand is available in 64oz packages, primarily distributed in the Great Lakes region.

Purity Organic CEO Mary Page Platerink said: “We are excited about this acquisition as it continues our mission of continuing to provide better for your brands to our customers.

“We have an aggressive roadmap in 2020 and look forward to continuing to serve our key markets and expanding into new areas for all our brands.”

Platerink will focus on improving operational excellence, as well as increase market share of all portfolio brands.

In August 2017, Purity Organic launched a beverage line containing 15% juice and sparkling water.

The beverage lineup includes flavours such as watermelon, lemon, mandarin and grapefruit flavours in a 12oz can, claimed to contain the recommended daily intake (RDI) of Vitamin C.
