Pulse Beverage has signed a deal with US-based Better4U Food & Beverage for the distribution of its Natural Cabana Lemonades & Limeades in Taiwan.

Better4U owns retailers in Taiwan and reports consumer demand for Pulse products in the country will total more than 6,500 cases per month, which will be worth at least $200,000 per quarter. The move is forecast to create a 40% improvement in Pulse’s annual sales.

As part of the partnership, Better4U will pay for the product up front eliminating credit risks for Pulse.

Pulse CEO Robert Yates said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our products in Taiwan where our partners are currently building retail storefronts that will offer our products for sale.

“Our partners have comprehensive consumer goods distribution relationships in Taiwan and we are pleased to have been introduced to a population base of over 23.6 million new consumers that will have an opportunity to taste our Natural Cabana Lemonades & Limeades.”

The Natural Cabana Lemonade and Limeade products are available in seven low-calorie flavours, including cherry, mango and strawberry.

Yates said: “This arrangement makes a lot of sense for Pulse. We have no distribution costs or credit risks in this business model.

“We collect from the customers in Taiwan, reimburse Better4U for their cash outlays and record the entire transaction in Pulse’s books. Our partner is responsible for paying for the manufacturing up front as well as transit costs.”

This distribution partnership follows a previous deal between Pulse and Better4U for the distribution of the former’s Natural Cabana Coconut Water in China. The coconut water is available in two flavours, pineapple and original.

Better4U estimated consumer demand for Pulse’s coconut water would reach 15,000 per month, which would be worth at least $450,000 per quarter and would double the product’s current sales numbers.
