Yoma Strategic, Delta Capital Myanmar, Pernod Ricard, and UHtun Win and U Zaw Win (Win Brothers) are forming a joint venture (JV) company to produce and distribute whisky in Myanmar.

Doing business under the name Access Myanmar Distribution Company (AMDC), a majority stake in the new JV will be owned by Pernod Ricard, while the remaining stake will be split between the other participants.

Pernod Ricard will take the lead in managing AMDC’s production facilities, extensive distribution network and brand portfolio. The company will have an access to more than 40,000 points of sale, 43 major wholesalers in key demand centres, nearly 230 delivery vehicles, and around 250 staff.

The latest move makes Pernod Ricard one of the first global producers of wine and spirits to enter the Myanmar market.

Expected to take place next year, completion of the deal is subject to customary conditions.
