PepsiCo’s carbonated soft drink brand Mountain Dew (Mtn Dew) has expanded its beverage portfolio with the addition of Mtn Dew Major Melon.

Mtn Dew Major Melon will be the first permanent addition to Mtn Dew’s portfolio in more than a decade.

The new variant reportedly offers the taste of watermelon with a DEW twist.

Speaking of the development, Mtn Dew marketing vice-president Nicole Portwood said: “Watermelon is a truly transportive taste, evoking feelings of freedom and nostalgia.

“As a brand, Mtn Dew is always pushing the envelope to bring DEW Nation the next bold taste that they crave in a way only DEW can.

“We found watermelon to be the number one choice of flavours tested amongst our fans, and MTN DEW Major Melon is our answer for those who are looking for a refreshing charge to keep them invigorated all day long.”

The company said that both its variants are available for purchase at retailers and online across the US market.

It will be available in 20oz bottles, 2l bottles, 12-packs of 12oz cans and a variety of other single and multipack sizes.

Last January, PepsiCo announced its plans to expand its Mountain Dew beverage portfolio in the US by adding a zero-sugar version of the soft drink.

The company said that its new variant Mtn Dew Zero Sugar offer the same flavour of the original Mtn Dew without any sugar content

PepsiCo claimed that its variant was suitable for the consumer looking for less sugar in the beverage they consume.

MTN DEW Zero Sugar joins the portfolio that includes Original Mountain Dew and Diet Mountain Dew, Mtn Dew Ice, Mtn Dew Kickstart and Mountain Dew Code Red.
