US-based company Peet’s Coffee has expanded its ready-to-drink (RTD) portfolio with the launch of the new canned iced espresso, True Iced Espresso.

The new product will be released in Black and White, Vanilla Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Mocha flavours, which are claimed to contain low sugar levels.

Peet’s Coffee coldcraft marketing and innovation director Gretchen Koch said: “Iced espressos in Peet’s coffee bars are incredibly popular, representing over 40% of our cold coffee sales.

“We focused on sourcing high-quality, clean ingredients and fine-tuning the production method.”

“After the success of bottling our signature cold brew, we are excited to introduce a premium RTD iced espresso that can be enjoyed anywhere. It was not easy to craft a canned shelf-stable coffee that is worthy of Alfred Peet’s name.

“We focused on sourcing high-quality, clean ingredients and fine-tuning the production method to ensure a creamy coffee experience on par with the iced espresso beverages handcrafted by Peet’s baristas.”

The new True Iced Espresso will join the existing portfolio of RTD beverages from Coldcraft, Peet’s business unit dedicated to the innovation, production, and delivery of RTD and keg craft beverages.

Peet’s True Espresso will be available at grocery locations, including Kroger, Albertson’s and Safeway across the country, as well as through the company’s website for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $2.99.

The company intends to add new locations across the country later this year.
