Bacardi’s tequila brand Patrón has launched Patrón Extra Añejo 10 Años in the US.

The new tequila offering will be the oldest in the brand’s history to-date.

Bacardi Global Brands Patrón tequila global vice-president of marketing Adrian Parker said: “The release of Patrón Extra Añejo 10 Años is an incredible milestone for Patrón.

“We are one of a handful of tequila brands to create tequila of this age and calibre and are extremely proud to have another outstanding product join our expanding range of aged tequilas.

“We are seeing tremendous growth in the aged tequila category as traditional cognac, rum and whiskey drinkers discover the versatility of PATRÓN and enjoy the distinct, complex flavour profiles that our aged portfolio has to offer.

“PATRÓN Extra Añejo 10 Años further demonstrates our innovation and craft that goes into making every expression of PATRÓN.”

Aged for ten years, Patrón Extra Añejo 10 Años comes from a blend of used American oak and hybrid American and French Limousin barrels.

Additionally, the company noted that its release is in a replica of the first hand-blown glass Patrón bottle and stopper.

The variant will be joining the earlier released limited-edition Patrón Añejo 5 Años and Patrón Añejo 7 Años.

The product will be available in the US from this month at $349 per 750ml bottle.

Last November, Patrón introduced the limited-edition Patrón Silver Tequila.

Inspiration from the tequila’s large glass bottle stems from Mexico’s history of intricate glass craftsmanship. It is the fourth in a series of collectable releases.
