US-based Pyramid Breweries has partnered with Portland Trail Blazers to create its limited-edition beer, Reigning 3s.

The new brew is inspired from the three-point shot from the basket ball game.

Reigning 3s is the second beer that Pyramid has created for launch joining together with the Trail Blazers.

With 5.5% ABV and a rating of 30 on the IBU scale, the new unfiltered White Pale Ale is a combination of Cascade, Apollo and Lemon Drop hops.

Pyramid Breweries head brewer Ryan Pappe said: "Lemon Drop hops are in high demand right now.

"We used it along with Cascade and Apollo, then added real lemon peel to create a bold and citrusy flavour that we think matches the team and the city of Portland."

In the 2014-2015 season, the limited-edition Schonz’ Red Session Ale was launched by the company in partnership with Portland Trail Blazers.

Reigning 3s will be available at the Moda Center and Rose Quarter, and at bars and restaurants around Oregon and Southwest Washington in 22oz. bottles.

Pyramid Breweries currently offers craft beers produced under the Pyramid family of ales and lagers.

With breweries in Seattle, and Portland, Pyramid also owns Alehouses at both locations and an additional Alehouse in Walnut Creek, California, US.
