Short’s Brewing Company, a US-based brewery, has equipped its Elk Rapids Production Brewery with a new bottling and packaging line.

The installation of the new equipment, which involved an investment of around $1.55m, is in line with the company’s strategy to meet its beer sales, which are annually growing by an average of 40%.

Short’s Brewing Company quality manager Tyler Glaze said that the new line will allow the company to keep up with Michigan-driven demand.

"At the same time, it will allow us to get even more creative in our brewing, enhance the quality of the product we’re distributing, and add new packaging options to our product line," added Glaze.

Germany-based packaging machinery producer Krones has designed the new bottle filling line, which has the capacity to fill 150 bottles per minute, a 300% improvement over Short’s prior filler.

Short’s Brewing plans to introduce a new Session India Pale Ale, Prolonged Enjoyment, to its year-round range.

The proposed beer in twelve packs will be available for sale beginning this month. It has an earthy hop fragrance of pine, and citrus fruit and the sweet, malty flavours from American hop characteristics.
