Sanpellegrino Group plans to redesign the bottling facility that manufactures S.Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water brand in San Pellegrino Terme, Italy.

The firm has launched an international tender for the redesign of the bottling facility at the source of the mineral water in San Pellegrino Terme. 

Four architecture firms have been invited to present their artistic visions for the remodelling of the factory.

The company claimed that this endeavour aims to celebrate the heritage, special source and terroir of S.Pellegrino, whilst promoting standards of efficiency, environmental sustainability and compliance.

"Through this initiative, we intend to further promote the quality and uniqueness of the territory where S.Pellegrino originates."

In addition, this project will support the revitalisation of the historic region, which once served as an exclusive destination for European aristocracy.

The architecture firms which from which the winning design will be selected include Bjarke Ingels Group, MVRDV, SNØHETTA, and aMichele De Lucchi.

The company will announce the winning proposal and timeline for design and construction in late September 2016. 

Sanpellegrino Group president and CEO Stefano Agostini said: "Through this initiative, we intend to further promote the quality and uniqueness of the territory where S.Pellegrino originates."

S.Pellegrino, Acqua Panna and Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages are international trademarks of Sanpellegrino S.p.A, which was set up in 1899 and based in Milan, Italy.

The drinks are distributed in more than 140 countries through branches and distributors in all five continents.

Sanpellegrino sells mineral waters, non-alcoholic aperitifs, drinks and iced teas.
