The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has opened a new Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at Westwood Plaza, Johnstown, Cambria County, US.

The new 4,400ft2 store is located in a shopping center, which will be anchored by a grocery store next year. The new store will offer a range of around 2,400 wines and spirits.

The store's staff will answer questions or provide suggestions to customers and a center table will include promotional items and educational materials, such as answers to frequently asked questions about wine and spirits, a vintage chart, a food pairing outline, and a party planning guide.

"The PLCB manages more than 600 wine and spirits stores."

The store includes a special Made in Pennsylvania section, dedicated to wine and spirits produced in the area. It also provides Pennsylvania Lottery ticket sales.

The PLCB is focused on developing an environmentally responsible store with LED or energy-efficient compact-fluorescent lighting that comparitively utilises only a fraction of the energy of standard lighting.

The PLCB manages more than 600 wine and spirits stores, and controls the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania.

The board, which also aims to minimise and prevent dangerous and underage drinking, licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers and handlers.

It also provides financial support for the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programmes, other state agencies, and local municipalities across the state.
