Newburyport Brewing Company (Newburyport), a Massachusetts-based craft beer brewery, has announced its investment in the Isle Brewers Guild (IBG) located at Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

IBG’s $12m facility is a craft brewery with a 100-barrel brewhouse, packaging lines, tasting room, indoor and outdoor event space, classroom space, and company offices.

IBG's 130,000ft² facility will have an initial capacity of 60,000 barrels when it opens in late 2016, and will reach 150,000 barrels in the future.

"Newburyport Brewing strengthens our portfolio of premier craft beer offerings."

Newburyport Brewing co-founder Chris Webb said: “We haven't been able to keep up with demand since the day we first opened our brewery in Newburyport, MA.

"Our IBG partnership is a key solution to our capacity constraints; this sister brewery will allow us to meet growing local demand and expand the reach of our year-round and seasonal offerings in new markets.”

Recently, Newburyport Brewing signed an agreement with C&C Distributors in West Greenwich, Rhode Island.

C&C will distribute Newburyport Brewing's lineup of craft beers, including Green Head IPA, Plum Island Belgian White, Newburyport Pale Ale, Melt Away Session IPA, Das Kölsch, and 1635 Series limited release beers.

C&C Distributors vice-president of sales Bob Zanella said: "Newburyport Brewing strengthens our portfolio of premier craft beer offerings.

"Every beer from Newburyport Brewing has impressed our team and I am confident our local Rhode Island craft customers will appreciate the brewery's commitment to quality and consistency. It's exciting to have another world-class brewery right here in Pawtucket."
