Scotch whisky brand Douglas Laing has expanded its Highland blended malt range Timorous Beastie with the launch of 21-year-old sherry in limited edition.

Only 2,718 bottles of the drink Timorous Beastie have been released.

The latest edition is reported to have notes of sweet barley, honey and spices, layers of raisins, crunched demerara sugar, and soft, macerated dark fruits.

"We’re proud to reveal Timorous Beastie Sherry Edition, an incredibly rich and fruity dram that shows great maturity and complexity."

Timorous Beastie 21 Years Old Sherry Edition has been prepared without the use of colouring or chill-filtration, and comes with an alcohol by volume level of 46.8%.

Douglas Laing commercial director Chris Leggat said: “Hot on the heels of Timorous Beastie 40 Years Old, we’re proud to reveal Timorous Beastie Sherry Edition, an incredibly rich and fruity dram that shows great maturity and complexity in ode to its 21 long years of maturation. The Ultimate Sherried Malt!”

Timorous Beastie 21 Years Old Sherry Edition comes in a deep purple and gold foiled gift tube and is available at specialist retailers globally at a recommended retail price of £90.
