Australia-based company Di Bella Coffee has announced plans to boost its footprint in India.

The firm will extend presence in Mumbai from 11 stores to 20 and will debut in Delhi, Bangalore, and Gujarat.

Di Bella is also working towards selling packaged instant coffee, reported LiveMint.

The firm has closed three of its stores in Hyderabad, due to disruption caused by metro construction.

Di Bella Coffee's India head Rahul Leekha was quoted by the publication as saying: “We have crossed $3m in investment, and we have allocated another $2m for the next round. This will largely be for store expansion."

The firm commenced operations in 2012 and is currently planning to invest a total of $2.5m for this expansion.

Di Bella Coffee's founder Phillip Di Bella was quoted by The Economic Times as saying: "Coffee by Di Bella is a premium coffee company and we are stepping up our India operations. We will open nine more outlets in Mumbai by year end."

He added: "Presently, we are focusing on Mumbai. We have already begun studying other markets including Delhi, Bengaluru and Gujarat and will open outlets there in the next two to three years."

The coffee chain intends to open 100 stores over the next five years.

It also plans increase the count of its employees from the present 300 to 600 by the end of this year.
