US-based spirits firm Deep Eddy Vodka is planning to expand its production capacity with the acquisition of a facility at the city limits of Austin, in Buda, Texas, the US.

The firm will build a new distillery on the 194,000ft² facility site, combining its capacity with its existing distillery at Dripping Springs, Texas.

It is expected that together, the two distilleries will aid the firm to meet the growing demand and boost its production capacity to more than five million cases per year.

"We look forward to enhancing the visitor experience with added capacity and the ability to host special events like live music shows."

Deep Eddy Vodka president John Scarborough said: "Deep Eddy Vodka continues to grow at a rapid pace throughout the country and we are on-track to ship one million cases this year.

"We are investing in additional infrastructure and capacity to ensure we can keep pace with our tremendous growth.

"Austin and the Central Texas region are the foundation of our brand, and this investment represents our commitment to keeping it that way.

"Our roots are planted here, and we are grateful to our local employees and the consumers that helped shape Deep Eddy Vodka into the success that it is today."

The existing distillery at Dripping Springs will continue the vodka production and the tasting room in the distillery will also continue its operations.

To improve customer experience, the firm intends to include new amenities and capacity to the tasting room.

Deep Eddy Vodka marketing vice president Brandon Cason said: "We've really enjoyed hosting our fans at our Tasting Room in Dripping Springs over the past two years.

"We look forward to enhancing the visitor experience with added capacity and the ability to host special events like live music shows."

Deep Eddy Vodka is a unit of Heaven Hill Brands.

The firm's spirits are distilled in small batches and include Deep Eddy Straight Vodka, Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Deep Eddy Ruby Red, Deep Eddy Cranberry, Deep Eddy Lemon and Deep Eddy Peach.
