Chile-based wine producer Santa Rita Estates has selected UK’s largest independent drinks wholesaler and distributor Conviviality to distribute its Vina Santa Rita wines in the country.

Conviviality’s off-trade subsidiary PLB group will also distribute Santa Rita's portfolio of brands such as 120 Santa Rita, Santa Rita Medalla Real, The National Gallery Series, and Tres Medallas wines.

In addition, the group will supply other Santa Rita brands along with Wave Series by Carmen, reported The Drinks Business.

Conviviality group's wine buying director Andrew Shaw was quoted by the website as saying: “Viña Santa Rita is an extremely important addition to our South American portfolio of suppliers.

“The heritage, scope and universal quality of Santa Rita wines speaks for itself, so we are incredibly honoured to be working with these brands in the UK off-trade.”

"The British market continues to evolve and to keep pace with developments the move to Conviviality is an exciting one for Viña Santa Rita."

Prior to the transfer of the Chilean wine producer‘s off-trade business to Conviviality, Santa Rita Estates Europe in the UK distributed the wine brand, reported harpers.co.uk.

Santa Rita Estates' Europe export director Terry Pennington was quoted as saying: “The British market continues to evolve and to keep pace with developments the move to Conviviality is an exciting one for Viña Santa Rita.

“PLB and Bibendum have an exceptional portfolio of high-quality and loyal customers in the off-trade and, working as a team, we are very much looking forward to expanding our business both into existing and new channels.”

Conviviality marked its entry into the off-trade wholesale market with the acquisition of Bibendum PLB last year.
