Coca-Cola has rolled out a limited edition patriotic can to honour the United Service Organizations (USO), which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

The cans feature the ‘I’m proud to be an American’ song, and has a red, white and blue colouring.

The soft drinks will be available in 16oz cans, in addition to 12oz cans in 20, 24 and 35 packs until 4 July.

"The custom patriotic packaging is Coca-Cola’s special way of commemorating and thanking the USO for its many years of impactful work."

Coca-Cola North America director of community marketing Erika von Heiland Strader said: "The custom patriotic packaging is Coca-Cola’s special way of commemorating and thanking the USO for its many years of impactful work to help keep the nation’s military men and women connected to family, home and country throughout their time of service."

In the lead up to elections in the US, Budweiser secured approval to rename itself ‘America’ earlier this month.

The labels on Budweiser bottles and cans, which will read ‘America’ instead of Budweiser, will be available until November.

Last month, Coca-Cola announced its plan to introduce new graphics that will use one visual identity system, where Coca-Cola Red will serve as a unifying colour across the trademark. This is a part of its plan to extend its ‘One Brand’ global marketing strategy to packaging.

The beverage company has over 500 sparkling and still brands, as well as over 3,800 beverage options.
