Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) has acquired Vifilfell, an Icelandic Coca-Cola bottling company.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been divulged by either of the companies.

Vifilfell is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods businesses in Iceland.

"The acquisition includes Vifilfell's two other production sites."

CCEP was created following the merger of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Iberian Partners and Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke in May.

The acquisition includes Vifilfell's two other production sites. Its 210 employees from its Reykjavik headquarters will also join CCEP.

Set up in 1942, Vifilfell has presence in sparkling soft drinks and beer categories.

It has over 2,300 customer outlets in Iceland with a portfolio of brands including Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Trópí, Toppur, Powerade, Hámark and protein drinks brand Víking, and the beer brand Thule.
