UK-based sparkling and still wines producer Chapel Down has released a collection comprising Coeur de Cuvée 2013, Blanc de Blancs 2013, and Chardonnay 2014 from single vineyard estate Kit’s Coty.

Coeur de Cuvée 2013 is produced using blocks of Chardonnay and a high-quality portion of juice, which is fermented and matured on lees in French oak for a period of seven months.

Chapel Down's head winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire described the wine as  “a rich, elegant English sparkling wine with aromas of ripe green apple, hazelnuts, and freshly baked brioche.

“The palate has incredible purity and finesse coming from a combination of the chalk soils and the specific pressing technique, which carries the well-integrated oak and fruit characters perfectly.”

The company produced 1,600 bottles of Kit’s Coty Coeur de Cuvée and each bottle is individually numbered and packaged in a gift box.

Chapel Down's managing director Mark Harvey said: “Our vision has always been to produce exceptional wines from the Kit’s Coty estate, to push the boundaries of what can be achieved in this country.

“Right from the start of this journey, when the first fruit from the Kit’s Coty vineyard was harvested in 2010, we knew this site was capable of excellence.”

Kit’s Coty Blanc de Blancs 2013 refined sparkling wine with 12% alcohol-by-volume (ABV) is produced from Chardonnay vines harvested by hand in October 2013. It has aromas of ripe apple, candied lemon, and toasted oats.

The wild-ferment Kit’s Coty Chardonnay 2014 with 12% ABV has been matured in old French oak for nine months and has aromas of melon and peach together with subtle toasted notes.
