C&C Group has signed a new partnership with Mahou India, a subsidiary of Spanish brewing major Mahou San Miguel, to brew several Tennent’s products under licence in India.

This is C&C Group’s third strategic partnership in recent months, as it aims to ramp up its international expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

India is a rapidly growing beer market and the firm aims to tap this growth. Initially, Tennent’s & Mahou India will launch Tennent’s Whisky Oak Aged Beer and Tennent’s IPA, which will be brewed in the country.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Mahou India, strengthening our position in the Indian market.”

Mahou India is the first international subsidiary of Mahou San Miguel, which has a production share of 35.5% in Spain.

It is based in Gurgaon, Haryana, and has a production centre located in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.
