Davide Campari-Milano's wholly-owned subsidiary Campari America has launched new whisky products Old Ripy and Bond & Lillard in the US.

For re-creating these whiskies, a team from Campari America was engaged in consulting original tasting notes from historical files.

The products were distilled at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, which is close to the Old Ripy site.

Campari America's global whiskies brand ambassador Robin Coupar said: "Resurrecting Old Ripy and Bond & Lillard has not been an easy task.

“The distillers didn't have the luxury of magically discovering old barrels of the original whiskies, and so it has taken two years of detective work and trial and error to piece together as accurately as possible how these lost original recipes would have looked, smelled and tasted like."

The Old Ripy whisky contains 52% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is produced using a combination of eight-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon with 12-year-old and younger whiskies for added complexity and oak.

It is non-chill filtered to retain congeners, fusil oils, lipid fats, and proteins.

Bond & Lillard is a bourbon whiskey that contains 50% ABV and is produced using charcoal filtered process for stimulating the aeration process that takes place inside the barrel.

Both Old Ripy and Bond & Lillard are available in certain selected markets, including California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York City, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
