US-based spirits and wines company Brown-Forman has launched a new website offering information on nutritional value of several of its brands.

Brands covered on the website include Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Herradura, Canadian Mist, Chambord, Jimador, Finlandia, Sonoma-Cutrer, and Woodford Reserve.

Brown-Forman has previously provided nutritional information on a wide range of its brands upon consumer request. However, with the introduction of the new publicly available website, the company aims to make the availability of the information an even easier and smoother process.

Over the next several months, the company's other websites and social media pages will add links to the new site. This development is in line with Brown-Forman’s partnership with other companies in the industry to allow customers to make informed choices about drinking.

"We believe the more information a consumer has, the better prepared they can be to make smart, responsible decisions about their alcohol consumption."

The site not only provides data on standard nutritional labelling, such as calories, sodium, fat and carbohydrates, but also states the alcohol content of every standard drink.

Brown-Forman's corporate responsibility director Rob Frederick said: “We believe the more information a consumer has, the better prepared they can be to make smart, responsible decisions about their alcohol consumption.”

Offering country and language-specific nutritional information, the new website has been initially launched in three largest markets – the UK, the US and Australia. Brown-Forman intends to add other countries and languages to the site over the course of the year.
