Bolthouse Farms has launched the new Plant Protein Milk range in the US market.

Claimed to be a vegan and non-genetically modied organism (GMO) product, the beverage is claimed to be suitable for traditional and alternative dairy milk drinkers.

Bolthouse Farms new Plant Protein Milk is a refrigerated, non-dairy product, which contains 10g of pea protein per 8oz serving, versus 1g of protein in almond milk. It also has 50% more calcium than dairy milk.

C-Fresh chief marketing and innovation officer Suzanne Ginestro said: "Current alternative milk options do not address the needs of more than 40% of people seeking great tasting, nutrient-rich, allergy-free options.

"Our Plant Protein Milk was created to satisfy the growing number of consumers seeking plant-based proteins, as well as traditional dairy milk drinkers looking for better food choices that are also rich in calcium."

Plant Protein Milk is available in Unsweetened, Original, Vanilla, and Chocolate flavours.

The company noted that the products have already been released across the US and will be available at retailers including Kroger, Safeway East, and Shaw's for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $4.99.

Established in 1915, Bolthouse Farms produces and sells juices, smoothies, and café beverages.
