Agropur has decided to display the Quality Milk logo, which is a new mark of origin indicating the quality of Canadian milk, on all its products.

The certification of origin logo was first introduced on 1 November by Dairy Farmers of Canada.

This logo indicates that all the milk and / or dairy ingredients present in a product are of Canadian origin.

"We are very pleased by Agropur’s decision to affix our certification logo to all their products."

It informs consumers that Canadian milk is produced by dairy farmers who have animal welfare, environmental protection and Canadian families’ health at heart.

Agropur president Serge Riendeau said: “Dairy Farmers of Canada’s new promise and the new logo certifying that milk and dairy products are of Canadian origin match our vision and our business objectives.

“The new logo promotes quality Canadian milk and the Canadian farming profession. Clearly, those messages reflect our Cooperative’s values.

"For us, quality has always been a priority. And it is natural enough for us to recognise Canadian dairy farmers and all our members who produce great milk day after day.”

All the Agropur's made-in-Canada products will bear the logo on packaging. The logo will also appear in the company's marketing and promotion activities.

Agropur chief executive officer Robert Coallier said: “We are listening to our consumers, who want to know where the products they buy come from. We have therefore decided that all Agropur products across the land will proudly display the mark of origin logo.

"In an increasingly complicated marketing environment, we are happy to be able to help consumers find their favourite Agropur products and see the origin of the milk they contain.”

Dairy Farmers of Canada president Wally Smith said: “We are very pleased by Agropur’s decision to affix our certification logo to all their products.
