Belgium-based beverage firm Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has formed a joint venture with Keurig Green Mountain for the research and development of an in-home alcohol drink system.

The joint venture will use the KOLD technology and system innovations of Keurig as well as AB InBev’s brewing and packaging technology across the beer, spirits, cocktails and mixers categories.

Joint venture chief executive officer Nathaniel Davis said: “We’re thrilled to be moving forward with this joint venture and look forward to working closely with the Keurig Green Mountain team to explore the possibilities of what we can achieve together."

With a primary focus on North America, the new venture will operate from facilities in Massachusetts and Vermont.

AB InBev includes more than 400 beer brands, such as Budweiser, Corona, Beck’s, Castle, Castle Lite, Aguila, Antarctica, Jupiler, Klinskoye, Michelob Ultra, Sibirskaya Korona, and Bud Light.

The firm employs around 200,000 employees across 50 countries and has reported $55.5bn revenue in 2015.

Owned by an investment firm led by JAB Holding, Keurig Green Mountain is a US-based beverage firm that includes 70 brands and 445 beverage varieties.
