Nestlé Malaysia has opened its expanded Milo manufacturing facility at Chembong, Negeri Sembilan.

The newly expanded facility is claimed to be the world’s largest Milo manufacturing site, with the capacity to export the product to more than 20 countries worldwide.

The company termed the facility as its global Centre of Excellence.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin bin Harun said: “Investments from high-impact industries, such as Nestlé Malaysia are integral to our vision of driving robust economic growth in Malaysia and Negeri Sembilan, which is outlined in our Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 plan.

“Not only is this testament to our economic potential in Negeri Sembilan, but also the investment-friendly policies implemented by the State. Nestlé Malaysia’s investment to upgrade and expand the MILO factory in Chembong will continue to create jobs for the youth and spur more opportunities for local businesses.”

The facility is equipped with production lines to help the company increase Milo’s production capacity by 30%.

The Chembong Factory, which started operations in 1993, is engaged in the production of various Milo product variants including Milo powder, Milo 3 in 1 and Milo Kosong.

Nestlé Zone Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa executive vice-president and CEO Chris Johnson said: “Malaysia is a key market for Nestlé globally and a key manufacturing hub in our Asian region.

“This expansion is a testament to our drive to ensure strong, profitable and sustainable growth, in tandem with our commitment to continue investing in Malaysia as a key manufacturing hub for the Nestlé Group.”
