Nelson’s Distillery & School has launched its first rum products in the UK market.

Including Signature Blend Rum and Roasted Pineapple Rum, the distillery’s products are made from three base rums sourced from Barbados, The Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

The blend is aged in oak barrels for three years to establish a distinct aroma before being mixed with natural flavourings such as pineapple.

“We wanted to ensure that our expansion not only includes the development of our signature gin range but also places us firmly at the forefront of this exciting new marketplace.”

Nelson’s Distillery & School founder and master distiller Neil Harrison said: “We know that rum is the next big trend here in the UK, especially flavoured rum.

“As a forward-thinking, proactive business, we wanted to ensure that our expansion not only includes the development of our signature gin range but also places us firmly at the forefront of this exciting new marketplace.”

Nelson’s Signature Blend Rum and Roasted Pineapple Rum are sold at £40 per 70cl bottle and join Nelson’s Distillery & School’s existing portfolio of Nelson’s Gin (London Dry), Navy Strength Gin, Rhubarb and Custard Gin, and Timur Gin.

The portfolio also includes the limited-edition Rose and Raspberry, as well as Winter Special Gin.

Nelson’s Distillery & School’s products can be purchased online on the company’s website.

Since its inception in 2016, the firm has been focusing on the production and distribution of gin products. It is claimed to be the world’s first company to have launched a gin variant using timur pepper.
