Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has expanded its cottage wine and craft beer concept to stores in Portland, US.

The company’s customers in Portland will now be able to purchase speciality alcoholic beverages such as organic and biodynamic wine, hard cider, alcoholic kombucha and local, organic and gluten-free beer.

The store will also feature free samples of beer, cider and wine from various vendors worldwide, including Pizzolato, Samuel Smith and Tarantas.

“Every product we sell meets rigorous quality standards, and our wine and craft beer offerings are no exception.”

Natural Grocers co-president Kemper Isely said: “From produce to supplements, every product we sell meets rigorous quality standards, and our wine and craft beer offerings are no exception.

“Oregon residents can trust that we’ve done our homework to source only the highest quality craft beer, wine and organic groceries to their neighbourhood store.”

The beer and wine products on offer are claimed to be made with grapes that are certified organic by authorities such as the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

In addition, Natural Grocers ensures that its beer and cider products are certified as organic and gluten-free.

In August last year, Natural Grocers unveiled its Cottage Wine and Craft Beer concept in Denver, which was recently expanded to six Oregon stores.

The company currently operates 147 stores across 19 states in the US and has a workforce of more than 3,000 employees.
