Molson Coors Beverage company and America’s Oldest Brewery DG Yuengling & Son have formed a new joint venture (JV) to expand the footprint of Yuengling beers.

Under the partnership, Yuengling beers will be distributed to customers located outside of the East Coast region in the US, allowing Yuengling to enter further west for the first time in company history.

DG Yuengling & Son chief administrative officer and 6th generation family member Wendy Yuengling said: “We are excited to launch this brewing partnership with the team at Molson Coors. Like Yuengling, Molson Coors has an established commitment to quality and rich history of family brewing excellence.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for us to grow our distribution footprint for the long-term while continuing to support our existing markets and the communities in which we operate.”

Yuengling beers will be now distributed across more than 22 states, with the scope for future expansion in the New England market.

The partnership is expected should begin in the second half of next year, managed by a board of directors, and consisting evenly of Yuengling and Molson Coors family members and executives.

As part of this partnership, Coors and Molson brewing families, as well as Molson Coors Beverage Company, will be working with Yuengling family to brew and sell Yuengling products.

DG Yuengling & Son noted that it will continue to operate as a family-owned business and the existing company will operate separately from the JV with Molson Coors.

Molson Coors Beverage Company president and CEO Gavin Hattersley said: “This is a huge growth opportunity for Yuengling, it’s a huge growth opportunity for Molson Coors, and we’re going to make a whole lot of Yuengling fans out west really happy.

“Today, three-storied brewing families and their collective 18 generations of brewing excellence, have come together with one goal for the future – a future-focused on growth. That is worth celebrating.”

In April, Molson Coors Beverage Company expanded its partnership with Canadian cannabis firm HEXO to form a new joint venture (JV) company called Truss CBD USA.

The JV company will make non-alcohol hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) beverages in Colorado.
