US-based brewing company MillerCoors is set to expand its Steel Reserve Alloy Series with the addition of a new beverage variant.

The Spiked Strawberry Burst offers a bold strawberry flavour and will be the seventh addition to the series.

Steel Reserve Alloy Series associate marketing manager Alex Pascutoi said: “There’s a huge group of millennial consumers who are looking for bold flavours and that’s where we’ve positioned Steel Reserve Alloy Series.

“Our flavours are what carry us. Once we get a new flavour out to our consumers, they buy it and they come back.”

Pascutoi added that the variant is a pink-coloured flavoured malt beverage that comes with a sweet finish.

With 8% alcohol by volume (ABV), Spiked Strawberry Burst will be available in retail outlets from November.

The demand for the Steel Reserve Alloy Series has been on the rise since 2014.

Spiked Strawberry Burst will join other variants in the series including Spiked Pineapple, Spiked Blue Razz and Spiked Tropic Storm.

Last month, MillerCoors announced plans to launch four beers next year. The company will launch a trio of light beers from three of its lead brands: Coors, Blue Moon and Leinenkugel’s.

In May, MillerCoors announced that Arnold Palmer Spiked will test two beverages in select markets.

Arnie’s Spiked Iced Tea and Arnie’s Spiked Lemonade will be initially launched in four test markets.

Arnie’s Spiked is designed to separate the original Arnold Palmer Spiked drink into two flavours.
