US-based brewing company MillerCoors has partnered with La Colombe Coffee Roasters to test a hard cold brew coffee across three US markets.

With 4.2% alcohol by volume (ABV), the La Colombe Hard Cold Brew Coffee is a ready-to-drink (RTD) cold brew, which will be released this month in Boston, Denver and also in the greater Tampa / Fort Myers / Treasure Coast area in Florida.

MillerCoors innovation vice-president Sofia Colucci said: “We’re thrilled to team up with La Colombe on this exciting launch. They bring deep expertise in the category and their focus on quality sourcing, roasting and innovation made them the perfect partner.

“Millennials are constantly looking for new products to complement their active, busy lives. La Colombe Hard Cold Brew Coffee does exactly that.”

Available in Black and Vanilla flavours, the product contains medium-roasted Colombian and Brazilian cold brew coffee, cane sugar, as well as natural flavourings and alcohol sourced from a malt base.

Furthermore, the Black flavour drink offers a touch of sweetness and delicate bitterness, with notes of baker’s chocolate. Alternatively, the Vanilla flavour offers notes of rich vanilla bean and dark chocolate.

Both drinks contain around 50mg of caffeine per can.

La Colombe was established in 1994, operating in approximately 30 cafes across the US. In 2016, the company began producing RTD canned coffees and coffee-based drinks, which are available at retailers across the country.

The drinks will be available in a pack of four 9oz cans at a price of approximately $9.99. Furthermore, the 9oz single can will be purchasable for around $2.79.
