MGP Ingredients, the parent company of MGP Brands, has pledged financial assistance to the United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) Relief Fund and The Restaurant Workers Community Foundation Emergency Relief Fund.

The company will also provide other support for workers affected by restaurant and bar closures across the country due to the pandemic.

Acting with the USBG Emergency Fund and the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation, the MGP team is committed to assisting the bar and restaurant community on the local and national level, it said in a press release.

Additionally, the company is supplying industrial alcohol for use in hand sanitisers and chemical disinfectants.

The production of industrial alcohol at its Atchison, Kansas and Lawrenceburg, Indiana distilleries has been ramped up recently to support the current demand.

MGP Ingredients produces industrial alcohol for use in both food and non-food applications.

Founded in 1941, MGP supplies premium distilled spirits, speciality wheat proteins, and starches. It is distilled spirits include bourbon and rye whiskeys, gins and vodkas.

MGP brands include George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey, TILL American Wheat Vodka, Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey, Eight & Sand Blended Bourbon Whiskey and Green Hat Gin.

Earlier this year, MGP Ingredients acquired New Columbia Distillers in the US.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in the US continue to rise.

According to the latest reports, a total of 671,425 positive cases have been recorded in the country. The death toll has crossed 33,286 with over 11,477 fatalities reported from the state of New York.
