Premium distilled spirits supplier MGP has unveiled plans to expand the distribution of Green Hat Gin in the first half of this year.

Last March, MGP acquired New Columbia Distillers in a deal that included Green Hat Gin distillery, retail tasting room, bar and gin garden.

The company will distribute Green Hat Gin, claimed to be first licensed distillery since Prohibition in Washington, DC, to its existing distribution partners.

Speaking of the development, MGP Brands vice-president Andrew Mansinne said: “This will be a very exciting season for our team as we build the Green Hat Gin brand and grow our distribution footprint.

“We are receiving outstanding feedback from our trade partners about the quality of Green Hat and look forward to sharing our brand story with gin lovers across the country.”

Produced in copper pot stills using a unique blend of botanicals, Green Hat Gin is available in four styles including Green Hat Original Batch Gin, Green Hat Navy Strength Gin, Green Hat Citrus Floral Gin and Summer Cup Cordial.

With 41.5% alcohol by volume (ABV) Green Hat Original Batch Gin offers classic aromas of juniper, citrus and herbs, while Green Hat Navy Strength Gin with 57.1% ABV comes with notes of candied lemon, grapefruit, lavender and clover.

Other gin variants including Green Hat Citrus Floral Gin and Summer Cup Cordial contain a low ABV percentage.

Green Hat Citrus Floral Gin comes with 45% ABV, and offers a bright lemon, orange and cherry blossom style, while Green Hat Summer Cup Cordial is a fruit and herb cordial and contains 33% ABV.

Green Hat is currently available in Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia and Washington, DC.
