AdVini has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Stellenbosch Vineyards with the aim of expanding its footprint and operations in South Africa.

As part of the acquisition, AdVini will take ownership of Stellenbosch Vineyards collection of fine wines and logistical centre, Welmoed, Arniston Bay and Versus wine brands.

Based in France, AdVini is a wine producer, while Stellenbosch Vineyards is a wine producer and exporter based in South Africa.

Breakthru Beverage Group (BBG) has signed an agreement to acquire Majestic Wine & Spirits, USA.

Following the acquisition, Majestic will operate as a separate sales division of Breakthru Beverage Pennsylvania and have immediate access to Breakthru’s capabilities and services, including training programmes, digital marketing, analytics and insight tools.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are US-based distributors of wine and spirits.

The Winebow Group has announced that Negociants USA will merge into The Winebow Group with a new portfolio focused on Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

As part of the merger transaction, Negociants USA will retain its name and consist of core wineries from its existing portfolio, including Yalumba and their family-owned Estate Wines from Australia.

Negociants will also consist of wines from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa currently represented by The Winebow Group’s Craft + Estate import division, following the transaction.

The Winebow Group is an importer and distributor of fine wine and spirits, while Negociants is an importer and distributor of premium Australian and New Zealand wine brands.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Whitbread plans to demerge UK-based coffee chain Costa as a separate firm, following pressure from hedge funds such as Elliott Advisors and Sachem Head.

Costa is expected to be listed as a separate business within the next two years in order to allow transformations to be completed and to drive international expansion.

Based in the UK, Whitbread is a multinational hotel, coffee shop and restaurant company.

The separation will enable both companies to take advantage of available structural growth opportunities in the UK and international markets.
